The little disaster

Sabrina's story

The story which left me a mark when I was younger is the one where I broke my arm. If I chose to tell you this event, it is not for its medical aspect naturally, but rather for the trivial side of this small drama. It is indeed very frequent that young children break a leg, an arm, or quite different bone constituting their firebrand's small body. I was thus 8 years old when I broke the ulna (I always found that the name of this bone belonged to the lexical field of the risible).

To recontextualize you the scene, I was in a park with my mother (yes, still her) realizing a real assault course, in the middle of August. A scale was positioned horizontally and I was busy to cross levels one by one, when my arms began to paralyze in the middle of the route. I called for help knowing that I will not able to continue the route and any release was not really an option because my body was suspended from several meters above the concrete. You already imagine that nobody answered to my emergency call.

Once at the hospital, I wanted to help the nurse to remove my long-sleeve T-shirt for the plastering, while I should not move (with time I see that I really had some energy to spare when I was younger, and now I have many difficulties to put my awakening before 8:00 am).

The doctors thus decided to inject me a dose of morphine (to calm my pain or to reassure me, that’s for you to judge). Lengthened on my small stretcher I looked at my mother and my father (arrived shortly after the drama) straight ahead in eyes to tell them how much the chemical substance which flowed into my veins was hot and pleasant (it was well and truly the words of a young junkie).

Now, remember when I told you that this accident had taken place in August.

I should be grateful to never laugh you of a child bathing in the sea with an enormous garbage bag of several liters fooling his big plaster on his arm. Furthermore an arm which is putting on a surfboard to not sink. #FluctuatNecMergitur.

You thus have the proof that the ridiculous does not kill.
