Our trip
After the stress of the finals, we decided to have a break of everything. So, it is on May 25th that we board on a little plane. Croatia, here we come ! It is our first trip together.
Aboard the plane, we admired the varied landscapes of Europa. We flew over France, we saw the overhanging Pyrenees, the Italian coasts and its beaches. After one hour, our plane started to land. But the way is not finished yet. We had to take a bus, to cross the Mediterranean Sea with a big ferry, to spend one our on the road in the bus again. After almost five hours of journey, we finally reached the little archipelago of Losinj, in Croatia.
The hotel was huge, beautiful and clean. We had a big bedroom for two, with an Italian shower, a fridge and a balcony right in front of the swimming pool and the sea, which seemed to wait for us. Without further delay, we threw our bags and put our swimsuits on. We hurtled down the stairs, and tried to forget the water is a little bit cold at 7:00pm. We jumped into the deep blue sea for a first bath that announced the beginning of the holidays.
After our first dip, we decided to try the buffet. As the entire isle, the food is breathtaking. We ate for three people, and we went near to the beach to admire and enjoy the sunset which gave us tears in the eyes.
On the second day, we decided to search a little shop where we could buy water and rosé to have a drink in front of the sunset. We literally crossed the entire isle to find it. We walked in full sunlight, but the scenery was mind-blowing. The water was transparent and the ocean stretched away in front of us.
When we came back to the hotel, we jumped into the swimming pool and we ended our day at the beach, enjoying starfishes underwater.
And that is how we spent all of our holidays : taking sunbathes until our skins look like salted caramel, comparing our tans, eating a lot, asking for two cokes and putting them on the hotel card to pay them at the end of the week, jumping into the water at noon and midnight, having rosé glasses at the beach while we are watching the sun going down behind the mountains, eating again, observing the underwater wildlife, laughing, eating, laughing, laughing, laughing.
We even rented a scooter one day in order to discover hided coves. It's incredible how a so tiny island can give us so much. We came back in France with thousands of memories in the head and the firm intention to come back in Losinj. It was so good for us not to think about school, finals, people.
This trip is forever etched in our heads and it permitted us to get closer and to see we are able to tolerate each other even if we are together for one entire week. It was a fantastic idea to go to Losinj, and we lived like queens for seven days, we even had bathrobes that we kept.
We bought souvenirs for our family, we sent postcards to our friends. We try to explain how wonderful this week was, but we know we are the only persons to understand everything that we felt. There was not a lot of activities to do to discover the culture and the monuments, but we found out that people were so kind and comprehensive out there. They were trying their best to give us answers, advices or to make us smile. Croatian people are really amazing and gentle, and the place is incredible. I hope we gave you a yen to go there because it is worth it ! With an aftertaste of nostalgia, we let you with a few memories of this little paradise on earth.
